Parks
The Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary in the Seaway Technology Center includes an interpretative center designed to look like a beaver lodge and provides a panoramic view of a 19-acre wetland home to herons, blackbirds, and a wide variety of other wildlife.
The City of Everett owns and operates 32 parks, ranging from neighborhood playgrounds to waterfront attractions. Many provide water access, hiking trails, and a full calendar of events and options – whether one is looking for activities or relaxation. The Everett Parks Department and other organizations offer recreational and educational programs and classes for participants of all ages.
Forest Park’s 110 acres offer a swim center, recreation hall, and, in the summer, an animal farm/petting zoo.
Grab a popular summer ferry run to Jetty Island, just off the Everett waterfront. The two-mile-long island’s sandy beaches and grass-covered upland dunes are home to a surprising number of mammal and bird species. A visit to the island can include a 45-minute nature walk with park rangers as an introduction to the many interesting wildlife and plants that call Jetty Island home.
